For the past few years, I was busy going from project to project, that I didn't realize until now that I never had a site dedicated to showing the world what I've accomplished. So I finally got my act together so now PartTimeMovieGuy.com is the central location for all my entertainment-related happenings.
Chances are you know me because of my first feature, Office Ninja, which I financed entirely out of my pocket to prove to the world that I can write and direct a movie. In the past year, it's gone on a rewarding journey of festivals, awards, and pursuing distribution. I won't bore you with the details, but as of now, I'm no longer with Legacy Features, and they are no longer my sales agent. When the dust settles, I hope to finally announce some distribution news in the coming months.
Here's some highlights of what I've been up to.
- I teamed up with Jennie Bond to co-write a new feature film screenplay, called American Born Chinese, which is a dramedy about Taiwanese-Americans. We were honored to reach the Scriptapalooza Quarterfinals in 2012.
- I edited the first season of the Ed Robinson's nominated web series, Pairings the Series.
- I worked as an assist editor for Art Freed's Hot Pixel Post, and at Evolution Media for Beverly Hills Nannies.
- I got to write and direct an episode of KATR Picture's The Ladies and The Gents web series, which will be debuting soon. In fact, we're having a Launch Party this Tuesday, March 19th! I can't wait to see all my friends, it'll be one crowded reunion. Obviously, I'm hoping my episode will be playing at the party, but we shall see.
This year I'm jumping out of my comfort zone, and taking on the challenge of writing a play AND a comic book series. You can check out my completed/upcoming projects on the right side of this website.
So yeah, some really great stuff happened, and I hope there will be more of it to come. I intend to do a better job of keeping you abreast of my adventures here. So thanks for reading, and hope to see you soon.
